BEAUTIFUL BRONAGH

Killardry Bridge

The parapet is the wall meant to keep a vehicle on the bridge. 1.25 m — the height the parapet should have stood. 0.23 m — at the point of impact: capping “partly removed”, a 5 m length collapsed (TCC engineering inspection, 21 Jan 2025). ~4.3 m — the drop to the River Aherlow (DWA forensic survey, May 2025). 60 km/h — posted limit, cut from 80 km/h on 7 February 2025 — eleven weeks before.

The removal of the capping is recorded in Tipperary County Council’s own engineering inspection of 21 January 2025 (rated “Significant Damage”, ref TY-L3151-B-010, which states that “the capping of the downstream wall has been partly removed”). Presented so the public can see the wall’s condition. This does not determine legal liability.

Illustrative, drawn to the recorded measurements; states no fault or causation.
